I write to offer my own and my colleagues heartfelt congratulations and warm good wishes on the 50th anniversary of the Institute for Population and Social Research. The William and Flora Hewlett is pleased to have made a small contribution to IPSR’s development and in the evolution of its research, training and policy agendas.
The institute was established when population studies was a small field in Thailand (and indeed in most of the world), with few specialists. Over time, more professionals were trained, more research support was obtained, and more collaborative projects were undertaken. For many years now, IPSR has been recognized internationally as a source of important research, high quality training and visible public information activities. We congratulate you and your distinguished predecessors who have overseen this growth and impact and fostered an atmosphere of steady learning, partnership, and improvement.
We join with the institute’s many other supporters around the world in offering our very best wishes and our hopes for another half century of IPSR contributions to Thailand’s development and to increasing prosperity, well-being, and improving health throughout Asia.
With warm best wishes,
Director, Gender Equity and Governance
